What if a student’s iPad freezes while it’s locked down?

Force a restart if a student’s iPad freezes after it’s been locked down:

  1. Press and hold the iPad’s top button and Home button at the same time.
  2. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  3. If you need to, reopen Bluebook™.

For iPads without Home buttons, force a restart this way:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.
  5. If you need to, reopen Bluebook.
