College Board Fall 2021 Weekly Question Survey Sweepstakes: Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Void where prohibited by law. This Program is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

The [College Board Fall 2021 Sweepstakes] (the "Sweepstakes") starts on November 1, 2021 and ends on December 16, 2021 ("Sweepstake Period"). All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on December 16, 2021.

1. ELIGIBILITY.

The Sweepstake is open to students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Attend a public, private, or home school, located in one of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, or any other U.S. territories and possessions;
  • Expected to graduate high school in 2022 or 2023;
  • Have taken one or more of College Board suite of assessments;
  • Have received an email from College Board and answered Math or Reading and Writing questions for 15 minutes; and
  • Have participated in a College Board research project.

Children or wards of employees, officers and trustees of College Board ("Sponsor") as well as the children or wards of their household members, whether or not related, are not eligible.

2. HOW TO ENTER.

During the Sweepstakes Period, eligible students will be automatically given one (1) entry to the Sweepstakes each time the students partake in the qualifying activity as instructed in the College Board email ("Entry").

Sponsor's computer system shall be the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes. All Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor is not responsible for Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, illegible and/or incomplete due to computer or electronic malfunction or other error. Use of automated devices is not valid for entry. Any Entry that is submitted with the use of an automated device will be void. Unreadable, inaccurate, unintelligible, or Entries which otherwise do not comply with these Official Rules will be disqualified.

To enter without participating in the qualifying activity, email [email protected] to request an alternate entry form. The form will be mailed or emailed to the caller. A completed form should be mailed back to College Board, Learning, Evaluation & Research, The College Board, 250 Vesey Street, NY, NY 10128 with the requested information including: full name, mailing address, email address, birthdate, and College Board account username. Limit one (1) Entry per stamped outer envelope.

By submitting an Entry, entrant agrees to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes and which Sponsor may decide in its sole discretion. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

3. RANDOM SELECTION OF WINNERS.

Sponsor will select twenty-five (25) winners in a random drawing from among all Entries received. The odds of winning are based on the number of Entries received.

4. PRIZE.

Twenty-five (25) winners will receive one (1) $200.00 cash prize ("Prize"). All federal, state, and local taxes and costs associated with acceptance are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer a prize, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. entrants agree that if a winner is found to have violated these Official Rules, or otherwise does not meet the eligibility criteria, such Prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner in a random drawing from among all remaining Entries. Limit one (1) Prize per person.

5. NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS.

The potential winners will be notified by email by no later than January 15, 2022. Then, potential winners (and, if minor, their parent/legal guardian) must submit an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release within 10 business days of the notification attempt to claim their Prize or such Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all remaining Entries. In the event a potential winner's Affidavit/Release Form is returned to the Sponsor as undeliverable or potential a winner is determined to be ineligible in accordance with these Official Rules, such Prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate potential winner in a random drawing from among all remaining Entries received.

6. VERIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS.

ALL POTENTIAL WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR, WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE SWEEPSTAKES. AN ENTRANT IS NOT A WINNER OF A PRIZE UNLESS AND UNTIL ENTRANT’S ELIGIBILITY HAS BEEN VERIFIED AND PARTICIPANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT VERIFICATION IS COMPLETE.

7. RELEASE OF LIABILITY.

By participating, each entrant (and, if a minor, their parent or legal guardian) agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless Sponsor (and advertising and promotion agencies), and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all injuries, liability, losses, and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from student’s participation in the Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes -related activity or the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any awarded prize.

Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Sweepstakes, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Should any portion of the Sweepstakes be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify, or terminate the Sweepstakes and, if terminated, at its discretion, award the prizes from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of such action using the judging procedure outlined above or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT DELIBERATELY TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

8. DISPUTES.

Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of New York or the appropriate State Court located in New York; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New York.

9. PRIVACY.

Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor's Privacy Statement, available at www.collegeboard.org/privacy-policy/privacy-statement.

10. USE OF INFORMATION.

The information that you provide in connection with the Sweepstakes may be used for Sponsor's internal purposes and to send you information about Sponsor’s products and special promotions but will not be provided to third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the Sweepstakes or as required by law, Sweepstakes administrator or legal process.

11. REQUEST FOR WINNERS' LIST/OFFICIAL RULES.

To obtain the names of the winners and/or a printed copy of the Official rules, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Learning, Evaluation & Research, The College Board, 250 Vesey Street, NY, NY 10128, within six (6) months following the Prize drawing.
