Elissa Kim
Senior Vice President, Global Strategy and Talent
As the head of Global Strategy and Talent, Elissa leads the talent effort, building and developing a high-performing team that advances College Board’s mission. She also leads the strategy group, which helps shape enterprise priorities and long-term direction in addition to supporting the organization’s growth and impact across Latin America.
Her leadership focuses on tackling ambitious challenges, building a high-caliber and accountable culture, and ensuring the organization attracts and retains the talent needed to deliver results for students.
Elissa began her career in New Orleans, teaching English and reading to 9th- and 10th-grade students. She later joined Teach For America’s national team, where she spent more than 17 years primarily leading the recruitment and selection of the teaching corps. She was elected to serve on the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education and completed one term before being appointed to the Tennessee State Board of Education, where she served for five years.
She holds a BA in history and religion from Northwestern University.
