Elissa also oversees the international work of College Board, as well as our Puerto Rico and Latin America Office. Across the globe, she helps make the College Board a fantastic place to work and grow.

Elissa started her career in New Orleans, where she taught English and reading to 9th- and 10th-grade students. She was recruited by Teach For America's national office and spent more than 17 years leading the organization’s recruitment and selection efforts. She served on the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education for four years before being appointed to the Tennessee State Board of Education in 2016.
Elissa holds a BA in history and religion from Northwestern University, which she attended on a full-ride tennis scholarship.
